This CAOG letter, mailed out two month later (May 2, 2000) focuses almost entirely on their association's opposition to SB 1479. In particular, it mentions that if LMs were to succeed in removing mandated phys supervision, then surely CNMs would follow.

This letter reports on the result from their survey sent out on Mar 7th:  "Licensed Midwife Opinion Form".  Only 142 doctors responded (the number of their membership is unknown but probably about 2,000 (there are approx. 4,000 OBs practicing in California).
